Ossification of Posterior Longitudinal Ligament
- Mostly males, greater incidence in Japanese, in certain families, in DISH patients, and diabetics
- Only some patients are symptomatic, symptoms may be slowly progressive or sudden after even minor trauma, average age at symptom onset: 50 years
- Mostly in cervical (75%, C4-6), also in thoracic and lumbar regions
- May be segmental, localized (2 vertebrae), continuous or mixed
